What is the difference between feral pigs (feral hogs) and wild boar?
Some states have an unlimited or open season on feral pigs but states like West Virginia have a protected season on wild boar and it it’s only open to residents for a limited time.

Hi,my name”s Marion The pig’s snout is shorrter than that of the wild boar. The pig has no tusks.the skin of the pig has little hair and is fragile, while that of the wild boar is very hard and coverd with dense, hard hair.

This is the best way to differentiiate between a wild pig and a wild boar, but the simplesst is the wild boar’s tusk.
